1 Year After Both Surgeries

It's been a little over 1 year since both my surgeries. My quality of life has changed dramatically. I have almost no back, sciatic, leg, or shoulder pain anymore. I can walk around, exercise, and run with no pain. If I'm on my feet for 5 or 6 hours in a row... my feet start getting fatigued and I get some sensitivity and soarness around the  implant areas of my ankles... but I think it's normal for people with non-flat feet to also get fatigued after being on their feet all day. Every now and then when I step wrong, I feel a minor sharp pain around the implant area of my ankle. The implant area also gets achy sometimes - especially when the weather is changing. However, these are rare and minor pains that I'd trade in any day in place of the unbearable back and leg pain I had before the surgeries. This past summer, I also walked on the beach barefoot for the first time without pain and discomfort! The sand actually felt good on my feet. Those of you with flat feet know how uncomfortable and painful walking on sand can be. I also wore flip flops and even walked around barefoot... not possible before the surgeries. In conclusion, I definitely 100% recommend anyone with flat feet to get this procedure done ASAP!

  1. I had this surgery done on 11/11/11 along with surgery on my big toe too. The ball of my foot, under my pinky toe kills me from the way I have been walking, because of my toe mostly. Right before Christmas I had to have the toe surgery done a 2nd time. During all this time I have had a hard time walking on my foot because of ankle/heel pain too. The only shoes I could wear were my Crocs. The ankle/heel pain was really bad these last few weeks. I have seen my doctor a bunch of time but he doesn't understand the pain. I had a few times when I tried walking without a brace on and ended up falling. Going up & down stairs I have to go 1 step at a time. I walk with a limp too. Last week I was hurting so bad, the pain was going from my outside ankle through my heal to my other ankle. Moving my foot anyway was killing me ... It felt like a pinched nerve. I finally listened to a friend and went to a Chiropractor this week and he had me step up on the standing table, with my front side against it and then lowered the table. He saw my left leg was a few inches shorter than my other leg, then pulled on my leg a bit and cracked it somewhere, then cracked my back too. I then stood up and already felt a difference. I wasn't as sore. He told me to stay off my foot the rest of the day and to go back to see him 2 days later. The next day I was able to walk without my foot brace and didn't feel the pinched nerve feeling as much, but it was still there. I went back to him Thursday and he said my legs almost lined back up and did the pulling of my leg and cracking my back again. He told me if I am still in pain on Saturday I can go in again, but he thinks I should be fine. Well Soon after I left there, I was walking around the store doing some grocery shopping and the sharp pain in my ankle area started up again ... every couple steps it sent sharp pains through my foot. It doesn't hurt as bad as it did before my first visit, but it hurts more than it did after the first visit. Today it is still hurting and this morning I had to go outside in the heavy wet snow, to move my car, so I didn't get plowed in my spot. Walking from my apartment to my car was torture. I just had my sneakers on and my foot kept getting bent in all directions; I almost fell a few times because it hurt so much. I plan on going to the chiropractor tomorrow to see what he says this time. I have an appointment with my foot doctor on Tuesday. I have been on disability from work since Nov and I am supposed to go back to work next Wed, unless the doctor says not to. If I do get sent back to work and still in this pain, I don't know what I'm going to do, because I will have to be on my feet all night. I just want this pinched nerve feeling to go away; it has been torture!!! I am so glad I am not having problems with my right foot, where I will need the surgery; it was just my left foot with all the problems. I am glad to hear the surgery helped you out and aren't in pain as much now. I hope my pain gets better soon too.

  5. Hi Marko!

I just wanted to know when were you able to walk almost normally?

Can you now put your feet together and align you legs with your feet, from front view?

Is it now a difficult process to get through security at the airport?

Is your shoe size a bit larger now or a bit smaller?

And if I get this surgery will I eventually be able to exercise normally? Such as running, because I do a lot of that and it would be awesome to have less pain. I just don't want to be running or working out and have my stent pop out of place. Lol
    * IF you don't mind, thank you.

right away, but it took a couple weeks to get used to it.

      Yes.

the implant made from titanium which doesn't set off any metal detectors.

my feet are less wide now, but i still wear the same size shoe and i like my sneakers roomy.

Yes, you will be able to do everything completely normally.

you should read my entire blog as I already answered many of your questions, and also covered all aspects of this procedure and it's recovery.

  6. Hi, I have flat foot, and since it hurts (especially the right foot, like a pinched nerve) I have had low back pain, I mean chronic back pain. My cuestion is, has the surgery helped you with low back pain? What can you tell me?
    Thanks you.

    1. I had very back chronic lower back pain and sciatica. And yes, the surgery has completely stopped all my back pain. As long as your doctor has ruled out other issues and your flat feet are definitely causing your back pain... Then this surgery should make a life changing difference.

  8. How are your feet now? I've got terrible flat feet, particularly my right one causing me knee, hip and ankle pains and i'm only 18! i've read so many horror stories that i'm a little nervous about getting this done. Would you still recommend it? Thanks, Amy.

    1. I would 100% recommend it. my feet are great. it's a simple and quick operation, so don't be worried as it will make a monumental difference in your life. just make sure to choose a dr. with experience doing this surgery. Hyprocure's website list all dr. in order of experience. i'd go with a "master level surgeon" if possible.

  9. Hello, I was wondering if it would be OK to speak to you in regards to Hyprocure. I was told I am a perfect candidate but the foot doctor was not able to answer all my questions. I am in so much pain with bilateral feet, as they are so flexible causing pain up the chain. Please let me know.
